Welcome to the Temecula General Plan Update website! The City is excited to embark on the process of updating its General Plan and this website will provide the community with an ongoing resource to provide input, track progress, review resource documents, and participate in this very important project.

Each city in California is required to have a General Plan, which serves as a blueprint for development in the City and provides long-term policy guidance for the community’s physical, economic, social and environmental changes. Temecula's General Plan was initially created in 1993 and updated in 2005- and a lot has changed since then. New housing developments have been built, business and industry needs are different, and the way people get around town has changed. Old Town Temecula and neighboring Temecula Valley Wine Country and Pechanga Resort Casino have flourished over the last few decades. In turn, the City of Temecula has evolved into Southern California’s Wine Country.

Looking forward 20 years, how will state laws and regional trends impact life in Temecula? What new technologies and innovations will change how we live, work, and play? While we can’t see exactly what the future holds, we are preparing for it by updating our General Plan.

This General Plan Update is a way for you to share your vision for the future of Temecula. We need your help to make the General Plan a success. What do you love about Temecula? What opportunities and challenges do you think face the City as it evolves over the next 10, 15, or 20 years? How do we sustain and enhance Temecula’s high quality of life, beauty, and amenities for decades to come? Sharing your ideas at community workshops, open houses and online will help make sure that the updated General Plan conveys the values and priorities of all its residents and businesses.
