Draft Land Use Report

The City of Temecula is excited to share the Draft Land Use Report, a key tool for considering how our community might evolve over the next 20 years. Since Temecula is mostly built out, this report does not aim to reinvent the city, but instead focuses on making our strong community even stronger through smart, targeted reinvestment in specific locations. The Draft Report is organized into four "Study Areas"—Commerce to College, Town Center and Tower Plaza, the Innovation Corridor, and SouthTown—along with eight individual "Sites" where small updates could benefit the neighborhood. For each location, the report provides side-by-side maps showing "Business as Usual" rules next to proposed new ideas so you can easily compare the two.

Your feedback on these concepts is essential and will be used to help create a citywide "Proposed Land Use Map". Please click here to take the Draft Land Use Report Survey.‍ ‍This map, along with the updated General Plan and Climate Action Plan, will then undergo a detailed Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to evaluate potential effects on things like traffic, water, and air quality. Once those studies are complete, the Planning Commission and City Council will review all documents and your comments during a series of public hearings. It is important to note that no final policy decisions have been made yet; the city’s official Land Use Map will only be updated after these public hearings and final City Council approval.
